Summary:
The ideal of being able to influence someone’s point of view to match your own has been debated and discussed for centuries. Because of differences in opinion and drastic variation in life experiences, it will never be possible to change an opinion in every situation, but in some cases, provided that correct measures are considered, it may be. However, using science to help form an argument can help build a strong case, provided it is used in effective ways. If scientific principles and ideas are not used correctly or effectively, however; they can weaken an argument, which is why it is important to be able to understand the limitations and weaknesses of this approach too.
